Bumper LED’s in the form of a strip look very out of place. They seem like a completly afterthought on that they forgot to put DRL’s in the main light cluster. I understand that in some cases, such as the 7 series, they actually serve a function as foglights. Still, they look very out of place.

to each their own. personally, I prefer DRL’s to be implemented in to the main light cluster

In most of these cases(maybe all of them) they are using them as fog lamps. Fog lamps have always had this problem with ruining aggressive astetics(GS350 F Sport) and these allow them to have both.

only the 7 series and conti are using them as fog lamps(as far as the ones in my post) but i do agree the mess up aesthetics a lot

Best example of the top of my for fog lights vs led lamps is 2013 GS350
GS350 w/fog lamp
GS 350 F-Sport
Some DRL/Fog Lamps would work perfectly in that sharp edge while still allowing me to have a fog lamp which the F-Sport does not.

ironically the design language that could really use an LED strip the most resorts to the traditional round foglights

Yellow DRLs are the best.

They’re okay if they’re done properly. Idk if they’re drls, but I like the lights on the Buick Reatta.
